| ABOUT HOPELESSLY HOPEFUL |
![]() Hopelessly Hopeful was created in January 6, 2007 by Leenie as a tribute to her favorite band, Fall Out Boy. The idea of starting a Fall Out Boy website came about a year prior to the opening of the website. By creating and opening a forum as prelude to the actual site, she was able to establish a small following whom has since awaited the opening of the main site. As the site was being built slowly, but carefully, more and more people joined the forum and the word has spread that a new Fall Out Boy related page was opening. The name came was derived from a lyric of a song from Fall Out Boy's sophomore album, From Under the Cork Tree, called, I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea that Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song). The terms were so distinct and catchy that Leenie felt it would be a great name for the site. Once the site finally opened, it didn't take long for fans to find Hopelessly Hopeful. As the months progressed, more and more people found themselves on the site either taking advantage of the freebies, learning about the band, interacting with other fans, or participating in the contests. With only TWO months of being online, the site's popularity sky rocketed when statistics show that Hopelessly Hopeful grossed over 15,000+ unique visitors for the month of March ALONE. Just when we thought the site couldn't get any more attention than what it was already getting, approximately 3 months following that, Hopelessly Hopeful gained over 150,000+ unique visitors which averages about 1,500+ visits PER DAY. So what did Leenie do following the news? ...Well, she didn't dance to the Village People in her bathroom, that's for sure. No. What makes you say that? ACTUALLY, she began to hire a staff. With thousands of people visiting a day, it would be ideal to hire a staff. Everything was running smoothly until tragedy struck and Hopelessly Hopeful's hosting service was deleted without notice. This didn't stop Hopelessly Hopeful from coming back. A new host was found and the site was able to keep it's original URL. Rebuilding was deemed as "not a problem" because the site was fixing to make itself over anyway. Downside to all this, rebuilding will be slow due to Leenie having to go to school, work, and etc. GO BACK. |
