New iPhone Game Featuring Thnks Fr Th Mmrs

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

The game is called “Six-StringT”. It’s been released by UMG recordings, and it features hit songs by some of the label’s top artists.

Six-String is a music game that offers a realistic guitar experience – it actually gives you the feeling that you’re really playing along with the song. Unlike other “guitar-playing” games where you essentially hit buttons, this game takes the genre to a whole new level of realism. Developed in conjunction with the team behind iShred, Six String replicates the experience of plucking, strumming and changing chords – and your performance affects not just your score, but how the song is heard.

Another huge plus is that Six String’s songs come from the actual studio masters – no more poorly-executed cover versions! The songs included with the game are:

[..] You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi
[..] Runnin’ Down A Dream by Tom Petty
[..] Thnks Fr Th Mmrs by Fall Out Boy
[..] Show Me The Way by Peter Frampton
[..] According To You by Orianthi
[..] Raised on Rock by Scorpions (off their new album “Sting in the Tail” just released this week!)

20 additional tracks are available for purchase, including songs from Angels & Airwaves, Beck, Dashboard Confessional, G.B.H., Gary Go, Hinder, Hollywood Undead, Kaiser Chiefs, Maroon 5, No Doubt, Papa Roach, Peter Frampton, Rise Against, Robert Palmer, Sum 41, 3 Doors Down and Wolfmother.

Six String can be played in Practice Mode, which lets you get familiar with the song, or Studio Mode, where you can compete, earn points and work up to Six-String’s high-score rankings. Competitive guitarists can log on to the game’s Plus+ Network social community to challenge friends and post scores via Facebook and Twitter.

Right now, there’s also a contest! The person with the highest score on the Six-String Hall of Fame leaderboard via the Plus+ Network at exactly 6:00 PM PDT on April 6, 2010 will be eligible to win a Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster.

You can view a demo of the game HERE, and the game can be purchased on iTunes HERE. You can also connect on Facebook HERE.

Wentz on Fall Out Boy’s Status: Twitter Needs “A Sarcastic Font”

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Pete Wentz has been making a lot of statements lately – on his blog, on Twitter and on his T-shirts for his Clandestine clothing line. So how can it be that there is still confusion regarding Fall Out Boy’s situation? Is the band broken up? On a break? What’s the deal?

The bassist tried to help clear things up backstage at Clandestine’s show presented by STYLE360 during New York’s Fashion Week on Tuesday night, when he explained that not all things posted on Twitter are meant to be taken too seriously. “We need a sarcastic font for Twitter,” Wentz said, “so you can type in that font, and people can be like, ‘Oh, he’s being sarcastic right now. We need an actual font.”
That’s because some things that the members of Fall Out Boy (as well as their friends) have tweeted are just jokes (such as Mark Hoppus and John Mayer joining or quitting the band). But some things were serious. How to tell the difference? Even Wentz has a hard time figuring it out, “because I’m manic, I flip back and forth, you know?”

“But to make it really clear,” he said, “we were just burned out, and we need a break. The status is still not changed from the very beginning. We’re just taking a break.” (Read More Here!)

This may make you all feel better

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

So we have all seen Pete’s blog ,Patrick and Andys interviews and Joes Cat pictures,so I don’t need to post them and I’m not going to add to the hysteria ,but just saw this and thought it was the best thing to poset about the situation:Its rational, its not cryptic ,Thanks Andy

From Andy’s Q&A on the FC forum:

xprofessionalx its all good. the thing is, the end isnt official. pete essentially said that he ‘doesnt see himself doing fob right now, maybe in the future’. patrick essentially said ‘im not in fob right now, but fob will always be around, etc..’. no one said ‘im done and never doing this band again. this band is officially over’. and everyone is reading it that way. the point is…we’re not a band right now. we’re not going to do anything for 2-3 years. maybe more. and then we will see how we feel. i dont take anyone saying they quit seriously. the whole point of the break was to get away from it for a bit. we are doing that now. its harder for some of us and easier for some of us. this is the way things are. as ned kelly said ‘such is life’.

dont be so quick to give up or to feel the need to put a nail in everything in your life. its in flux. my band is in flux. my life is in flux. everything in this world is in flux. this whole situation will resolve itself when the time is right. until then, nothing is certain. as a member of the band fall out boy i am outright saying that we have not officially broken up. we are at the same place we were when we decided to take the break. to get away from it and come back in a couple years and see where we are at then.

Regarding Pete’s Blog Post

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Due to the tremendous influx of emails I’ve been getting, I can’t fully assess the fate of Fall Out Boy with 100% confidence. I’ve been a fan as long as they’ve been active, and I must say, I’d be lying if I didn’t feel my heart break just a tad. Pete is usually cryptic, but now, I think he’s more heart-felt and deliberate than ever.

Now, for the record, Hopelessly Hopeful will NOT close down due to this new piece of evidence. I think it’d be the wrong decision considering this could possibly be a shock-factor statement that is meant for us fans to conjecture on. Who knows? I’ve been a dedicated fan since 2003. Rumors of a possible break-up doesn’t mean I should STOP being a fan. The same goes for you fans. Although I can’t speak for all of you, I suggest you consider the same rationale. Whether the come back from their break or not, or whether they come back short one member or not, always remember the band members don’t make the band… the music does. If they don’t make anymore music, then okay. We still have the ones they’ve already made.

Provided if they return from their break, we can move on as if none of these rumors surfaced. But we should also prepare for the “inevitable.” Feel free to be upset. I will not rob you of that right, but do remember that eventually, we all have to come to terms with this possible situation.

The Year of Decaydance

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

December 31st, 2009

2009 will go down in history as a rollercoaster year for the world economy and the music business. For the Decaydance family, it will go down as the year Travie, Brendon and Patrick introduced the world to “Open Happiness”; Cobra Starship took over the charts with “Good Girls Go Bad”; Hey Monday embarked on the Believers Never Die Tour then followed up with their first headline tour; Fall Out Boy released their greatest hits album; The Cab found inspiration in Cancun and wrote their new record; Four Year Strong Explained It All; The Ready Set signed to Decaydance and recorded his debut album; Travis went out with Staying Alive for MTV; and The Academy Is… released an EP and prepared to celebrate 5 years since “Almost Here”.

And while 2009 may seem insurmountable, it is only just a beginning. In 2010, we’ve got more than a few aces up our sleeve. The Cab, Four Year Strong, Hey Monday, Panic! At The Disco, The Ready Set and Travie will all be coming out with new albums. Cobra Starship has a big surprise in the works. The Academy Is… will be playing their 5 year anniversary show. Panic! At The Disco is going to change how you’ve thought of them. And that’s not all. We have big plans and may be announcing something new soon. In 2010, we plan on doing one thing: bringing back real music to you.

While it would be next to impossible to narrow down our top moments of 2009, we’ve asked the Decaydance family to reminisce and put together their top-5 moments of the year.

FALL OUT BOY

1. Sharing the stage with Blink-182 and the connection of the live crowd with ‘Folie A Deux’ despite the state of the music industry.

2. Playing Obamas inagural ball and receiving an xmas card from the white house

3. Taking the next generation of punk pop bands on tour on the believers never die part deux tour.

4. Fighting for our ideals with art (poverty, prop 8, equal rights) and creating Fall Out Toy Works- a cohesive pop medium meant to to challenge peoples minds with in the constraints of pop culture

5. Finally taking a breath. Growing up and accepting our past and future on “Believers Never Die” album. Stepping back and watching the scene grow. (Click here to read the rest!)

Pete Blogs:FOB Named No 9 Record of the Decade by WNYC!

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

considering today is F.A.D.’s birthday this is pretty cool

i kind of am able to look back on f.a.d. fondly now. we pushed the record back. then put out a song that i think shouldve moved the needle more but i think sometimes its all about timing. i think we put out singles in the wrong order. didnt do as much press as we shouldve. mtv virtually evaporated on us. “i dont care” was one of my favorite videos weve made. putting out a record at the worst possible time to be a band like us didnt help. but im glad that so many people seem to care about it as a body of work now and i can appreciate that. this is a big one.
