| This may make you all feel better |

So we have all seen Pete’s blog ,Patrick and Andys interviews and Joes Cat pictures,so I don’t need to post them and I’m not going to add to the hysteria ,but just saw this and thought it was the best thing to poset about the situation:Its rational, its not cryptic ,Thanks Andy From Andy’s Q&A on the FC forum: xprofessionalx its all good. the thing is, the end isnt official. pete essentially said that he ‘doesnt see himself doing fob right now, maybe in the future’. patrick essentially said ‘im not in fob right now, but fob will always be around, etc..’. no one said ‘im done and never doing this band again. this band is officially over’. and everyone is reading it that way. the point is…we’re not a band right now. we’re not going to do anything for 2-3 years. maybe more. and then we will see how we feel. i dont take anyone saying they quit seriously. the whole point of the break was to get away from it for a bit. we are doing that now. its harder for some of us and easier for some of us. this is the way things are. as ned kelly said ’such is life’. dont be so quick to give up or to feel the need to put a nail in everything in your life. its in flux. my band is in flux. my life is in flux. everything in this world is in flux. this whole situation will resolve itself when the time is right. until then, nothing is certain. as a member of the band fall out boy i am outright saying that we have not officially broken up. we are at the same place we were when we decided to take the break. to get away from it and come back in a couple years and see where we are at then. |

| Regarding Pete’s Blog Post |
|
Due to the tremendous influx of emails I’ve been getting, I can’t fully assess the fate of Fall Out Boy with 100% confidence. I’ve been a fan as long as they’ve been active, and I must say, I’d be lying if I didn’t feel my heart break just a tad. Pete is usually cryptic, but now, I think he’s more heart-felt and deliberate than ever. Now, for the record, Hopelessly Hopeful will NOT close down due to this new piece of evidence. I think it’d be the wrong decision considering this could possibly be a shock-factor statement that is meant for us fans to conjecture on. Who knows? I’ve been a dedicated fan since 2003. Rumors of a possible break-up doesn’t mean I should STOP being a fan. The same goes for you fans. Although I can’t speak for all of you, I suggest you consider the same rationale. Whether the come back from their break or not, or whether they come back short one member or not, always remember the band members don’t make the band… the music does. If they don’t make anymore music, then okay. We still have the ones they’ve already made. Provided if they return from their break, we can move on as if none of these rumors surfaced. But we should also prepare for the “inevitable.” Feel free to be upset. I will not rob you of that right, but do remember that eventually, we all have to come to terms with this possible situation. |

| In An Interesting Turn of Events… |
|
…my beloved desktop computer just crashed majorly over the weekend in the midst of doing some massive site updating overhaul. Truthfully, I’m not sure if my computer can be repaired (this has happened before and by sheer luck, I did something and it worked… now, nothing). Luckily, I’ve backed up all my files before said “Crash,” however, the site updates I had lined up were destroyed in the crash (stupid me… didn’t save them). I am now desktop computer-…less. I am actually posting this damn update on my netbook (trust me… not a good device for doing REAL site updates). I wanted to post this as I don’t want you all to think I’ve forgotten about the site as I haven’t been around much for HH and the boards. Before 2009 ended, life has certainly taken a turn for the worse and it’s been tough trying to recover emotionally and financially. I’ve gotten a few interviews here and there for jobs and recruiting offices. No call backs yet. I’ve requested a couple forbearances on my student loans and will be filing a deferment soon once I get all my stuff straight. Slowly, but surely, my family and I are getting back on track. If not one day at a time, then one baby step at a time. As I’ve mentioned before, in times of need, my family comes first. As for my computer dilemma, my mom was given a laptop by her roommate and will be passing on her current one to me which will be sufficient enough to update HH, IA, and whatnot. Until we can come up with the money to buy me a new desktop, this hand-me-down laptop will have to do. Fingers crossed everything will turn out okay! |

| Patrick Stump Records Solo Album, But Don’t Call It That |
|
‘Solo’ just sounds to me like it implies that it’s some kind of vacation,’ Fall Out Boy singer says. There’s a reason Patrick Stump’s website just underwent a rather drastic redesign, but it’s not what you think. OK, well, it sort of is. On Wednesday, the Fall Out Boy singer scrapped the cartoony feel of his site (the floating illustration of his head will truly be missed) in favor of a black screen and a rather foreboding quote from French author Anais Nin written in white lettering: “And the time came when the risk it took to stay closed in a bud became more painful than the risk it took to bloom.” Most fans interpreted that quote to mean he’s going solo, especially with Fall Out Boy on a sort of free-form hiatus at the moment. Stump, however, says he made the change not to kick off some confounding viral campaign for his first solo effort, but because he had just grown tired of the old site’s color scheme. “I don’t really believe in viral stuff and manufactured mystery,” Stump wrote to MTV News in an e-mail. “I just didn’t like the way my site looked anymore.” But, oh, now that you mention it, he is working on a solo album. “I’m working on an album,” he continued. “I’ll be writing/producing/performing everything myself. Stay tuned.” (Read More Here!) (Courtesy of Mtv.com) |

| Pete Wentz and Ning headline session |
![]() How has social media changed the relationship between bands and their fans? Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz (centre) appeared in the final session of day one of MidemNet, sharing the stage with Ning CEO Gina Bianchini (left) to talk about the issues around it. Billboard’s Mark Sutherland (right) moderated. Ning has created more than two million social networks for artists, but also for charities, activists and other organisations – it’s a DIY social network platform. Music has been hugely important for it, she said, with more than 40 million registered users (i.e. people using those two million Ning networks). Wentz is one of those Ning networks. How has it changed his interaction with fans? “When you’re first starting out as a band, we would use any avenue to reach people that we could,” he said. “We were using blogs from the beginning, but as more technologies came out and we had more fans, we wanted to find a way to have a more intimate relationship with them. But it’s hard to do.” How does he decide which platforms to use, and which he doesn’t – and does he ever wish he was back in the 70s, when bands only had to focus on making records and taking drugs (interviewer Mark Sutherland’s words, not mine, I should stress…) “The truth is, in our age as globalised as we are, you do need to interact with your fans. They expect that of you.” However, Wentz also described social media as “a closet door” that artists can choose how wide to open – they don’t have to share their entire lives if they don’t want to. | Pete Wentz Picks His Favorite New Artist Of 2010! |
|
[..]The Fall Out Boy bassist’s money is on former Chiodos frontman Craig Owens. Fall Out Boy might be on hiatus for now, but that will only allow Pete Wentz more time to work on other projects, like acting as a celebrity ambassador for UNICEF, shepherding the “Fall Out Toy Works” comic book and working on music with his friends. In fact, Wentz told MTV News that the music he is most excited about in 2010 is coming from a close friend. “My pick for 2010 is Craig Owens, formerly of Chiodos,” Wentz said in an e-mail. “I’ve heard some of his new demos.” (Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta and Owl City also shared their favorite new artists for MTV News’ Rock Week.) Up until September of last year, Owens served as the singer for Michigan post-hardcore screamers Chiodos, who have released a pair of records and three EPs in their nine-year career. Owens was let go from the band last fall after rumors of acrimony between himself and the rest of the band. (In an official statement, the band announced, “This decision was a necessary one. Out of respect for all of the hard work that we have put in together for all of these years we will not be discussing the specific reasons that this needed to happen.”) (Read More here!)
